Online Therapy Intensives

Maybe you’re feeling stuck in the weekly model of therapy.

Maybe your schedule is hectic, and scheduling in a weekly therapy session feels like another burden.

Maybe you’re in a transition period and want to work through something specific right now.

You’re in the right place.

Sometimes you need more than weekly therapy, or you prefer processing things in an intensive way. Therapy intensives provide an opportunity to work through concerns in a focused and succinct way without the interruptions inherent in weekly 50-minute therapy.

I work with people who want to get to the hard stuff quicker. Rather than a cure-all, intensives help to jumpstart the healing process, helping you to progress faster toward a life you cherish.

What does a therapy intensive include?

INTAKE SESSION

1.5 HOURS | We will discuss your goals, intentions, and life experiences relevant to the intensive. We will create a plan together for our intensive session.

THERAPY WORKBOOK

Online workbook with exercises and prompts to gently prepare for your intensive.

PROCESSING SESSION

3 HOURS | Extended, focused time for deep healing & accelerated growth. This session is personalized to your individual needs and goals. This may incorporate ACT, Parts Work, EMDR, and somatic approaches.

Why do a therapy intensive?

Intensives may be a good fit for you if:

  • You want to do significant therapy work, but don’t have time to commit to weekly sessions.

  • You’ve been going to weekly therapy (or have gone before) and find yourself frustrated by the time constraints of 45-50 minutes sessions.

  • You’re going to weekly therapy, and things have come up (e.g., past trauma, heartbreak) that your current therapist does not specialize in and would like to do some work in addition to your weekly therapy.

  • You have a break or window of time coming up where you’d like to get as much therapy work done as possible.

  • You’re getting ready for a significant life event that (e.g., marriage, a move, new job, graduation, seeing family) and would like to do some emotional processing before this experience.

Therapy Intensive FAQs

  • Therapy intensives condense weeks and months of therapy into 2+ days. They're a short-term, accelerated therapy, with the aim of doing more work in a condensed time, letting you feel better sooner.

Within an intensive program, we may flow through various therapy modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Parts Work, EMDR, and somatic approaches. This allows for processing work from multiple points, and you will receive a pre-intensive workbook to help with preparing for the session.

Intensives can be scheduled on weekends, weekdays, and weekday evenings.

  • Intensives are for you if you want to get to the hard stuff quicker. They also allow you to address more in one session than the typical 50-minute therapy structure, allowing you to dive deeper and see results faster.

Intensives are also often a more accessible option in that they allow you to skip the traditional therapy waitlist, and they allow you to schedule in your preferred time.

  • Therapy intensives can actually be more cost-effective than weekly therapy in the long run. In weekly psychotherapy treatment, time is spent on checking in at the beginning of each session, addressing current crises and concerns, and assisting you in grounding and debriefing at the end of the session. In addition, focuses can shift week to week in traditional therapy as other stressors come up. In therapy intensives, you cut this time down and focus on the subject you really want to tackle.

  • This is a fast-pass, premium service. As such, higher fees are charged as they require more work, energy, and schedule flexibility.

Intensives also provide more value for clients.

2-day intensive programs begin at $995. Intensive hours are billed at a higher rate than weekly therapy, due to the increased value, short-term nature, & scheduling flexibility of intensives. Weekend intensive hours are billed at a higher rate than weekday intensive hours.

In accordance with the No Surprises Act, you will receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) as part of your intake paperwork. This document will outline the costs of your intensive therapy program.

Once you have confirmed your intensive dates, a non-refundable deposit for half the amount of your total intensive cost is due within 1 week, or 24-hours prior to your intensive session, whichever is earlier. This amount will be charged to your credit card number, submitted via the online client portal.

The remaining half of your intensive cost will be charged on the date of the first session.

  • Customized intensive programs (3+ days) are available.

Ongoing intensives (on a monthly, quarterly, or other recurring basis) are available if you want longer-term support or prefer to work intensively.

I recommend that you start with a 2-day intensive program.

At the end of the 2 days, we’ll evaluate your progress and decide whether it makes sense to conclude our work or schedule additional intensive days.

If you know upfront that you’d like a longer intensive program (to address multiple stressors, themes, or layers of complex trauma), we can customize your program from the beginning. I’m happy to talk through questions and logistics with you at our free consult.
